Altered Vintage Printers Tray Using Prima Tea Thyme Collection

The Printers Tray is for sale in my etsy shop. You can find the listing here

Today I am sharing with you a altered project. I picked up a vintage wood Printers Tray at my local thrift store. Here is a before photo.

When I picked this up I knew I would need a few days to work on it. I had it sitting in my closet for a few months. When I saw the Prima Tea Thyme collection I knew it was time to bust it out and get busy.....

I had alot of fun creating this project. I had trouble at first. I had no idea where to start. But I went for it. I painted the whole thing and then measured and cut out the papers to fit in the squares. I also distressed the papers before adhering them down.

I then pulled out all the yummy goodies I wanted to use. I used products from Glitz Designs, 7 Gypsies, Kaisercraft and more.

I used alot of vintage laces and trims. I punched out alot of butterflies from the paper collection. I used random flowers from my stash.

Here is some close up pictures.

You can watch the video on the printers tray below.

Hope you enjoyed seeing my project. Thank you for stopping by. I love to read your comments and feedback.

Utterly gorgeous - I love Printers' Trays even when they're 'raw'... and I'm craving the Tea Thyme collection, so this couldn't be more perfect as far as I'm concerned. Wonderful, wonderful project (weathered white on the outside extremely impressive too... a real vintage look!)...

Thank you so much for the inspiration and video. I have a printer's tray sitting in the garage (my father was a printer) and have been wanting to do it for so long and seeing yours has given me so many ideas. Love the distress paint look on it and the Tea Thyme collection. I want to make mine a tribute to family and the things they do i.e. Dad being a printer, Mum a baker/florist/mosaic artist, Grandfather on the Railways etc, etc and have been saving miniatures to include. Your inspiration is just what I need to get going. Grateful thanks.
